I teach beginners ranging from age 6 - adults. I believe learning how to read music is an important part of playing an instrument, so I put an emphasis on note reading and understanding of rhythm. Though I studied classical music, I do not force my students down a classical path and instead teach them fundamentals through books like Suzuki while also having them choose a song they enjoy to learn. This keeps them interested in lessons and ensures they are learning the necessities to continue growing as a musician.
